Greg started his career in Memphis, TN in 1987 as a Regional Construction Inspector for a commercial modular building company. Greg traveled nationwide doing ancillary inspections for a wide range of clients such as Federal Express, Coastal oil, Nations bank, Checkers and more, Greg’s nick name was "The Kid", because he was young and full of grit.
Through the years, Greg was promoted to director of maintenance and soon moved to Houston, TX to oversee the Midwest Region from Texas to Wisconsin performing systematic inspections for over 40 company stores. As his education grew, Greg was offered a Superintendent position for one of the largest building company’s in North America where he travelled nationwide assisting for a certificate of occupancy for projects involving, Amoco gas stations, Walgreens drug stores, McDonald’s restaurants, Retail Strip malls and more. Greg eventually found himself working with an energy management company as project manager and he travelled coast to coast performing energy audits for:
HUD in multifamily units
Building envelope inspections for Municipalities, Cities and States
Government entities, such as the Navy and Army
Greg started his own business, Southern Craftsman in the Kansas City area in 2007 doing weatherization audits and project management on Residential Remodels. Southern Craftsman has grown over the years and has expanded into Truepenny Inspections. Greg has an extensive background in Development, Construction management, and the general building arena.
